New Websites
If you don't already have a website, Digital Storm can
inexpensively build you one that will automatically
include SEO for every page. The cost of website design can vary
tremendously depending upon your goals, your
ability to contribute time by supplying quality photographs and
descriptive text for the required pages, the overall size of the
site, the level of scanning and photo editing required and the amount
of other graphics and custom work required . All of our design and
construction work is billed at our hourly rate and can range from $1,000 (Canadian) to $4000 dollars and up. That's a
pretty large range so to give you a better idea of what to expect,
here are a couple of examples.
www.griffinlakelodge.com
(Mid Range Price)
This site was recently designed and built from scratch with 15
pages ( a main overview or "home" page, a
"rooms" page with links to 5 individual rooms, a
rates page, a reservations information page, a photo
gallery page, a recreation and links page, a guest comments page,
separate pages for tax information and booking policies. The
total time spent on this site, not including additional pages
created for SEO or the set-up of the online reservations system
page, was 26.5 hrs which translates into an invoice amount
of $2120 (Canadian Dollars before tax). In this case the client
provided all of the photographs in digital format and all the textual
content for each page.
www.bluemtnlodge.com (Low
Range Price)
This is a smaller but very functional website also built from
scratch. The limited photographs and text descriptions were
provided by the client who has for the time being declined
any further SEO but has opted for PPC marketing for which the site
is completely ready. Total time spent on this website (excluding
PPC work and online reservations system work) was 15 hours translating
to an invoice amount of $900 (Canadian Dollars) In this case the
client provided all of the photographs in digital format and all of the
textual content for each page.
www.digitalstormmarketing.com
(High Range Price)
This, of course is the website you are looking at. This site
required dozens of hours of content development work, a few
custom graphics challenges, the acquisition and editing of other more
basic graphical data, the construction of dozens of automated
search hyperlinks, etc. We aren't generating an invoice to
ourselves but if we did the amount would range into the tens of
thousands of dollars. Furthermore, the owner of the site is very
fussy, continually striving to change the site so that it
adequately provides clear information about a very complex and
evolving topic.
Modifying an Existing Website
The
"tweaking" of an existing site can involve such things as adding photographs,
compressing existing photographs to enhance fast download times,
adding effective title, description and other meta tags to enhance
search engine performance and adding complete pages where necessary.
Any new work we do will automatically keep in mind all of
the basic website development objectives that are important for a
hospitality business website:
All website design and construction work is
billed at our hourly
rate.
